Preserving Green Spaces for a Thriving Coastal Community
At the heart of our community lie beautiful open spaces like the Gulf Harbour Golf Club (GHCC), once a cornerstone of the Gulf Harbour lifestyle. Originally designed as a harmonious blend of marina living and a world-class golf course, these green spaces created a peaceful, nature-infused environment for residents. However, the closure of GHCC in 2023 threatens to disrupt our treasured landscape.

Protecting What We Love
Keep Whangaparāoa’s Green Spaces Incorporated Society (KWGS) represents the interests of the residents of Gulf Harbour and the wider Whangaparāoa Peninsula, standing up for the coastal lifestyle we cherish. Homeowners who invested in this community trusted the protective covenant/encumbrance ensuring the preservation of the open space provided by GHCC. Now, we're facing a challenge as property developers push against these protections.
Visit the Resource Library page for press releases, articles, key documents and records of public meetings.

A Call to Action
The land surrounding the GHCC was always intended for recreational use, safeguarded by a 999 year encumbrance. KWGS has petitioned Auckland Council to honour these promises and protect the integrity of our community. With your ongoing support and involvement, we can preserve the open space that makes Gulf Harbour a unique and tranquil place to live.
